Be a DOER: Five steps and ACTION!
Scene “Be A Doer”, Take “ONE”, Set; and … ACTION!
We open the scene in modern day life, the protagonist -You, got up this morning, yet again thinking
“Oh God, please grant me the strength to go through this day of back to back zoom meetings and the ensuing text messages from my boss asking me to do a thousand things simultaneously”; and as you stumble to get out of bed, you see a notification on your phone filling you with hope.
The notification says “Here’s Good News: You Can Make It!” new blog post from Tarek Azmi: Be A Doer with these 5 easy steps you can take action and change your life.
The scene starts with Take ONE, and ACTION! Because you can’t get it right from the first go, you will probably not get it right from the second, tenth or even hundredth but what great actor do you know of who has ever made a scene from take ONE? Imagine a world where Will Smith or Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson decided to stop because they were scared of taking action or scared of messing up their lines?
No! they take action because successful people know, like I always say “DONE IS BETTER THAN PERFECT”
I know there are consequences and fears holding you back but you don’t have to worry because these FIVE simple steps can guid you through:
Take ACTION: No matter what the circumstances are or what the inherent dangers might be, take ACTION. Nothing you do for the first time will be perfect. In fact things that you do daily, if done in a different environment or with different people will not be perfect. So why delay? Think about what you have been wanting to do for so long and take that first step. You’re tired of your boss bullying you? take a first step towards building your side business to free your self from the corporate tyranny (eventually). You wan’t to loose weight? go on line and book your meal plan. Wish you had time to exercise? set your alarm 5 minutes earlier tomorrow and get up on time… in a week’s time you will build enough buffer to put in a workout. What ever it is TAKE ACTION
Subconscious Empowerment: build an evening routine where first you go to bed early enough to get you at least 6 hours of sleep and before you snooze off: lay in bed, take a few deep breaths and relax. Picture a pleasant space like a sandy beach, or a mountain top count three to five deep breaths and delegate action to your subconscious mind. Repeat what you want to accomplish with determination and hold yourself accountable for it. by doing so, you are rebuilding your neurological structure to recognize and trigger the required action. It’s not magic, off-course and won’t happen overnight, but with repetition, your subconscious mind will trigger action.
Build your Circle: those in your corner have a strong influence on your success. Are you surrounded by people who don’t encourage you to take action, are you surrounded by gossip? are friends and family talking you out of moving towards your dreams and goals? Ok, Ok, I get it, you can’t cut people out of your life and where can you find, supportive successful people? If you can’t physically network you can certainly virtually surround yourself with people who are making it happen. The internet is full of webinars, mentors, role models that you can follow and emulate until you find your own footing and grounding
Say NO! It was 2004, I found myself sitting with a family friend who may he RIP, before passing away was the No.1 Tuna merchant at the time. He had built a multi-billion dollar fortune trading Tuna among other successful businesses and I asked for advice “what do I have to do to build a successful business” and he looked me dead in the eyes and said “the number one skill you need to build to become successful is the power to SAY NO!”. I was at the edge of my seat hanging on to his words and when he said that I though: “clearly he doesn’t want to share how he became successful” I just wish I took his advice because I learned, the hard way, the damage in not saying NO. Allow me to impart the same wisdom on you… Learn to say NO.
Don’t stop starting: and I don’t mean that in the sense where you abandon projects before they are done but rather don’t feel that you have accomplished your goals and then do nothing. Never stop starting something new or something to enhance the existing. what goes hand in hand with that is continuous learning. Don’t stop your education and always look for more things to learn. There are so many opportunities today so get into the habit of grabbing them.
Conclusion: accomplishing your dreams and goals will only be achievable if you take action. Learn, Act, Grow and you will find that you are reaching your goals faster and more efficiently and when that happens then put bigger goals. Should your goals feel unattainable then change your strategy to reach them rather than reducing your goals…If you have big dreams and goals and aren’t sure where to start then get in touch with me; and Here’s Good News: You Can Make It! so:
